Final poll before voting predicts Labour win

Wednesday 3 July 2024

A YouGov poll published on the eve of the General Election predicts that Josh Dean will take Hertford & Stortford from the Conservatives tomorrow.

The poll predicts that Labour will take 36% of the vote locally, with the Conservatives taking 31%. Reform come third with 18% of the vote.

The constitency of Hertford & Stortford has returned a Conservative MP at every election since it was formed in 1983. Until 2001 the seat was held by Bowen Wells, following which Mark Prisk was elected. Julie Marson was elected in 2019 following the retirement of Mr.Prisk.

The most recent prediction from Electoral Calculus suggests a wider margin for Labour, with a 41% vote share for Josh Dean and 27% for Mrs. Marson.
