Two charged after shop thefts

Two people have been charged after thefts from Boots and M&S Food last week.

At around 2.20pm on Wednesday 17th June, two people entered Boots store in Hertford and reportedly took items without making any attempt to pay.

Police were alerted and following a chase on foot, a woman was detained. Officers quickly discovered she had an accomplice, and the duo had also committed offences in Marks & Spencing Food.

A male suspect attempted a getaway by train, but an officer prevented the train from leaving and detained a man on board.

A search was carried out and, in total, a quantity of suspected stolen items were seized, including cosmetics, face creams and sixteen cans of deodorant.

Daniel Jordan, aged 53 and of Hollands Croft Hunsdon, and Louise Edwards, aged 47and of no fixed abode have been charged with theft from a shop. They will appear at Stevenage Magistrates Court on Wednesday 29th July.
