Bluecoat Opens

The Bluecoat restaurant and bar in Fore Street opens today after months of restoration work.

Formerly The Sportsman, the pub has now changed hands after the premises license was supended for sales of alcohol to underage drinkers.

The new owners AGB Group have spent months completely restoring the listed building and refitting it as a bar and restaurant.

The new menu includes spinach and mushroom ravioli, smoked eel and leek tart, roasted pigeon and pan fried crab cakes. Main dishes include calf's liver and bacon, roast fillet of cod and slow cooked belly of pork.
