Town councillor leaves Green group
Tuesday 26 March 2024
Kingsmead councillor Vicky Glover-Ward has left the Green group at Hertford Town Council.

Cllr. Glover-Ward was elected to the town and district councils in May last year when many Conservative councillors lost their seats.
In a statement issued today, the councillor explained that she had left to the group for "personal reasons", but remains a member of the District Council's Green group and a member of the party.
For clarity; I remain a member of the Green Party and anticipate that this will continue throughout my term of office and beyond. After much thought I decided that I would step out of the Green group at Hertford Town Council and sit as an Independent for personal reasons. This decision is entirely separate to my membership of the Green group at East Herts Council so does not impact on my sitting as either a local or Executive member. Prior to my election I represented the views of Kingsmead residents by sitting on and/or chairing local community organisations and I expect to continue to vigorously represent local Kingsmead residents on the town council. At the district council I endeavour to serve the needs of the wider area as well as my local ward in my roles as Exec and local councillor respectively.
