Fashion show raises £2600 for charity

Thursday 26 October 2023

A fashion show staged by a Hertford womenswear shop has raised £2600 for childrens' charity Helping Herts.

A sell-out audience of 60 guests attended the catwalk show at the Hertford House Hotel on Wednesday 18th October.

The event was organised by Sioux Wilde, owner of preloved boutique, Mint of Hertford, and raised £2,597.

Helping Herts supports 12 children and young people's charities across Hertfordshire to help them improve the lives of the children and families they look after.

Sioux provided a selection of clothing from the Railway Street store, modelled by friends and family. All the clothing was 'preloved', featuring high street brands as well as designer labels.

Becky Ridley-Ayers and a team of stylists from Fred and Ginger in Bull Plain provided hair and make up services for the models, whilst music was provided by DJ Mac.

Following the catwalk show, guests had the opportunity to purchase outfits seen during the show, and the evening concluded with a raffle. All the prizes were generously donated from local businesses.

Sioux said: "As usual nothing is done by one, it takes many talented individuals to bring together an event like this & to give pleasure and fun to others. We are grateful for our loyal customers who contribute and show us so much love in return! Thank you also to DJ Ross Mac and photographer Melanie Bayford for their time, and for Hertford House for allowing us to host this event - they were exceptional!"

Sarah Clancy, Digital Marketing Lead at Helping Herts, said: "The night was such a success, the atmosphere was amazing. We are so grateful to Sioux for putting on such an incredible cat-walk show and for the generosity from the fabulous guests who bought raffle tickets, helping us raise money for Helping Herts. The money raised on the night will really make a difference to all the charities we support."
