MP wins reselection following members' vote
Julie Marson MP has been reselected to contest the next General Election after a vote by ordinary members of the Hertford & Stortford Conservative Association.

Earlier this month Mrs.Marson failed to in her initial bid to be reselected when 8 of the 15 Executive Members of the Association voted against her readoption.
In a message to local party members, Mrs.Marson said: "Eight people voted not to automatically adopt me as your candidate. This was a devastating shock both to me, all the members who voted for me and the many others who have since contacted me. So I have decided to ask for a vote so that all members, not just a tiny group, get to decide."
In a subsequent ballot of the wider membership she received the support of 108 members, with 71 voting against, giving her 62% of the vote. Turnout was 53%.
Mrs.Marson has yet to respond publicly to the latest vote.
The Hertford & Stortford Conservative Association have been approached for comment.
