Have you got ID to vote?
With local elections just 8 weeks away, voters are being reminded that photo ID will now be required at polling stations.

Town and district council elections take place on Thursday 4th May with new ward bondaries and voters required to show a form of photo ID before being allowed to vote.
Ahead of May's elections, political parties have been out on the streets leafleting, with constituency MP Julie Marson joining Conservative councillors

A wide range of photo ID will be accepted, including passports and driving licences. The full list of accetable forms of ID are:
- Passport
- Driving licence (including provisional license)
- Blue Badge
- Certain concessionary travel cards
- Identity card with PASS mark (Proof of Age Standards Scheme)
- Biometric immigration document
- Defence identity card
- Certain national identity cards
If you don't have an accepted form of photo ID, you can apply to a free voter ID document known as a Voter Authority Certificate.
The new boundaries see enlarged Bengeo and Kingsmead wards, with resulting changes to representation. Previously each of Hertford's four wards elected four town councillors, but from May, Bengeo and Kingsnmead will have five town councillors, with Castle and Sele wards having three each. At District level, Bengeo and Kingsmead will have three councillors each, whilst Castle and Sele have two.
Both the town and district councils are currently controlled by the Conservative Party.
