Exhibition and consultation on new Bengeo housing scheme

The housebuilder behind The Stiles in Sacombe Road and new homes in Tamworth Road is holding an exhibition and consultaion on proposals for 100 new homes north of Bengeo.

Durkan Homes are conducting a public consultation before submitting a formal planning application for the site later in the year.

There will also be an exhibition at Bengeo Cricket Club today (Wednesday 31st August) between 2pm and 7pm where local residents can meet the developer and discuss the proposals.

The site was removed from the Green Belt in 2018 and earmarked for housing in East Herts Council's District Plan, subject to mineral extraction issues.

If planning permission is granted then buiding work could begin in Autumn of 2023 with completion expected in 2026.
