Underpass Art Stolen
Police are investigating after thieves stole five framed works of art from the underpass linking St.Andrew Street with the new Aldi store at Castlemead.
It was reported that five A0 frames, containing artwork created by local students, had been stolen from the underpass below the A414.
Police say that the theft was reported to police on May 19, but it appears it was noticed and reported to the county council by members of the public a few days beforehand. The exact date of the theft is unknown.
The gallery was installed in July last year featuring works by renowned local artist Alan Davie, as well as works by local schoolchildren.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to please contact police, quoting crime reference 41/37035/21.
