Police shut down cannabis farm

Tuesday 4 May 2021

A man was arrested and cannabis plants were seized after police executed a warrant at an address in Hertford following complaints from members of the public.

Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out the operation at an address in Farm Close on Wednesday 28th April.

A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation and has been released while enquiries continue.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Lisa Perks said: "This action was carried out in response to concerns raised by members of the public about this particular address. We will always do everything we can to gather intelligence and take action against those suspected of being involved in drug crime, as the public would rightly expect us to; especially when it is affecting their quality of life.

"Sadly, we're often criticised by some people for carrying out these warrants, but what people don't see is the bigger picture around how young and vulnerable people are being exploited through drug crime and the associated violence it brings to our streets."
