Town council election results

Results from  yesterday's town council elections are now in, with Conservatives still in a majority on the council, despite being down five councillors.

Local Conservatives have lost five 'seats' on the Town Council, with Liberal Democrats, Labour and Greens joining the council. 

There are now ten Conservative councillors, with the other six being Labour, Liberal Democrats and Greens.

This is the first time that Green Party members have been elected to the town council.

Turnout varied from 28% in Sele Ward to 37.6% in Bengeo.

Results for the town's four wards are shown below. Each ward returns four councillors.
