Man in court on drug and weapon charges

A Hertford man has appearred in court on drugs and weapon charges after his vehicle was stopped and his home searched.

Daniel Thomas, aged 47 of Currie Street, Hertford, appeared at Hatfield Magistrates Court on Thursday (9th July) and pleaded guilty to charges of possession with the intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine), possession of an offensive weapon, and the possession of criminal property.

At around 2.30pm on Wednesday 8th July, Officers from the Hertford Neighbourhood Policing Team stopped a grey Mini Cooper following intelligence of it being linked to the supply of drugs.

During a search of the driver and vehicle, officers recovered suspected Class A drugs, cannabis vape pens, cash, a knuckle duster and a mobile phone believed to have been used in the supply of drugs.

Further enquiries led officers to execute a Section 18 search at the man's home address, where they uncovered a substantial quantity of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

In total, items seized included:

  • Around 250 pre-prepared wraps of suspected cocaine, ketamine and pink cocaine.
  • A quantity of cannabis vape pens
  • An axe
  • A knuckleduster
  • A quantity of drug paraphernalia
  • Cash amounting to around £3,000

In total, officers seized drugs with an estimated street value of up to £10,000.

Thomas will be sentenced on 31st July 2026.
