Beginners ramp added to skatepark

A new ramp from beginners has been installed next to the skate park at Hartham Common

This ramp has been installed in response to community feedback, which was gathered last summer to see how the popular skatepark could be improved.

We're grateful to everyone who offered us their feedback, as well as to King Ramps who helped us install the equipment

The new £18K ramp was installed by Kings Ramps and paid for with Section 106 Funding, which is used to support the provision of services and infrastructure, including highways, recreational facilities, education, health and affordable housing.

East Herts Council's Executive Member for Wellbeing, Sarah Hopewell, said: "I'm really pleased to see the additional ramp installed, after young people were consulted in person and online.  The new ramp is great for beginner skaters and those newer to the sport, as well as those looking to practice new tricks.  My two children have just started skateboarding themselves, and with the summer holidays around the corner, I really hope the new ramp gives lots more children and young people the opportunity to build their skills and enjoy the sport."
