Free Street Table Tennis
Shoppers, visitors and locals can now enjoy a spot of street table tennis whilst in the town.
Free ping pong is now available for all to enjoy, in an initiative provided and funded by Hertford Town Council to encourage visitors to engage with the local community, support the local businesses and shops and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Located between Maidenhead Street and Hertford Library on Dolphin Yard, visitors will be able to play for free up to 15 minutes per session.
Use of the table is available during the Library opening hours: Monday: 9.30am – 5.30pm Tuesday: 1pm – 6pm Thursday: 9.30am – 6pm Friday: 9.30am – 5.30pm Saturday: 9.30am – 5pm Closed Wednesday, Sunday & Bank Holidays
To play ping pong, visitors should collect the bat and ball from Hertford Library reception area and put down a deposit of £5 which will be refunded on their return.
Depending on the popularity of the street table tennis in this location, additional ping pong tables may be purchased and located within the town centre.
Chairman of Hertford Town Council's Development and Leisure Committee, Cllr Jane Sartin, said: "Hertford Town Council is always looking for new activities to encourage people to shop and eat out in Hertford town centre, and street table tennis will hopefully prove popular with local residents and visitors to our town. It’s great to have the support of Hertford Library, which is enabling this activity to happen."
