Rush Green petition presented to council
A petition urging action against dangerously queueing traffic on the Rush Green roundabout has been presented to the county council.

The petition, signed by over 1000 people, was presented to a meeting of the full council by local campaigner Nigel Bowen.
According to the petition, motorists waiting to access McDonald’s cause traffic to back up around the roundabout, preventing traffic from entering the roundabout from Stanstead Road.
Since 2014, the roundabout has been designated as an urban clearway – making queuing illegal.
The petition calls on the county council to install enforcement cameras and to levy fines against those who breach the urban clearway regulations.
Planing permission was granted last year for a new feeder lane but campaigners say this would be insufficient and would not fully adddress the issue.
Following the presentation of the petition, the council agreed to a motion requesting the executive member and council officers continue to work with others to enable and support the enforcement of moving traffic offences at the site.
