Christmas yarnbomb unveiled
The Secret Society of Hertford Crafters has joined with BEAM Hertford to bring a panto themed yarnbomb to the town's Christmas tree.

To decorate the tree , the yarnbombers have knitted, crocheted, sewed & upcycled pumpkins, mice, glass slippers, clocks, cloches, and invitations to the ball addressed to well known children’s characters. They also made Prince Charming's whole castle complete with moat, drawbridge, towers, a kitchen, a DJ, a bar, dancers in flowing gowns and ties and tails! And then there's the cruel sisters, some scoundrels trying to sneak in without tickets (called Noel & Liam), soldiers for security, a fairy Godmother and of course Prince Charming and Cinderella!
The Secret Society will have a stall in Salisbury Square during the Hertford Christmas Gala on 22nd November from 3.00pm till 8.00pm, and then between 11.00am – 3.00pm every Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday until 22nd December, weather permitting.

There is also a quiz for children to experience being at the ball themselves, which can be downloaded from the Secret Societys website, from the Yarnbombers’ stall in Salisbury Square, or from Hertford Town & Tourist Information Centre in The Wash.

The charity for this year's yarnbomb is Hertfordshire Breast Unit Appeal.
