Prolific shoplifter and absconder gaoled
A Hertford man has been gaoled after ignoring a Criminal Behaviour Order and committing multiple thefts from supermarkets.

Michael Cakebread, aged 36, formerly of Hertingfordbury Road in Herford, was sentenced to 18 months in prison during a hearing at St Albans Crown Court on Wednesday 30th October.
He had pleaded guilty to 18 theft offences from shops in Hertford, as well as 18 breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order, which prohibited him from entering Hertford town centre and any Co-op, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Aldi or M&S in the UK.
Sergeant Nathan Howson, from the East Herts Community Safety Unit, said: "Shoplifting is something we take seriously, and we’re working hard to target prolific offenders and bring them before the courts. Local officers are also working with businesses and retailers to help target harden premises and prevent offences from occurring."
