Town Council Awards Community Grants

Hertford Town Council recently awarded grants totalling over £4,000 to five Hertford-based organisations.

The Town Council sets aside a sum of money each year for Community Grants. These can be awarded for a range of purposes, including public events, projects being undertaken by local voluntary organisations and endeavours by individuals which show a clear benefit to Hertford residents.
Councillors agreed that the following sums be awarded:
- Herts Disability Support Group was awarded a grant of £200 towards social events and trips.
- Courtyard Arts & Community Centre was awarded a grant of £1,059 towards the cost of kiln equipment.
- St John Ambulance was awarded £1,200 towards the cost of a pop up shelter for welfare facilities.
- East Herts Citizens Advice Service was awarded £1,200 towards safety and security equipment for their building. Cruse Bereavement Care Hertfordshire was awarded £440 towards its running costs.
