Parking Petition

Local jewellers Lance James are circulating a petition in protest against increased parking charges that are due to come into force in March.

The increases will see a one hour ticket rise by 15% from 70p to 80p.

Struggling retailers claim that the parking regime is seriously harming business in the town.

Hertford Town Council have also protested against the increases.

Charges in Ware will be unchanged at 60p.

No-one at East Herts Council was prepared to comment.

The petition can be signed at Lance James jewellers in Market Place, Harts of Hertford in Fore Street or at the Tourist Information Centre.
