Century-old bus service retired
A local bus service that has been running since the 1920s has been retired and replaced with a new renumbered service.

The 333 service connecting the town centre to Bengeo in the north and to Foxholes and Pinehurst in the east has been discontinued and replaced with the H1, H5 and H6 services.
The 333 originally ran from Hertford bus station to Ware Park, Chapmore End and Parker Avenue in Bengeo but later also added the housing estates to the east of town.
The withdrawl of the 333 means that the Foxholes and Pinehurst areas are now served solely by the H1 service that runs between the estates, the bus station and Hertford North station, typically running an hourly service on Monday to Saturday between 7am and 7pm.
Bengeo will now be served by the H5 service, running an hourly off-peak service calling at Bengeo Street, Parker Avenue and intermediate stops, whilst the H6 will operate ah hourly service calling at Bengeo Street, Parker Avenue, The Avenue and intermediate stops.
A PDF timetable for the new H5 and H6 service can be found on the Intalink website.
The other local services operating in Hertford are the H2 connecting the bus station and Hertford North station to the west of town, the H3 and H4 serving Horns Mill.
The 300 series of bus numbers was introduced in the 1920s and many of those routes are still running today, although most have been altered in the intervening years.
