Busy junction to be disrupted for up to a month

Motorists are being warned of delays when work takes place to refurbish traffic lights at the junction of Mill Road and Ware Road.

The work is scheduled to take place between Monday 24th July and Friday 25th August with temporary multiway traffic signals replacing lights whilst the work is carried out.

The Junction is close to the Bluecoats roundabout and both suffer congestion during peak hours.

In addition to replacement of traffic signals, the pedestrain crossings will be upgraded to Puffin crossings, which feature pedestrian signal lights mounted on the same side of the road as the pedestrian, rather than across the road. They also detect when a pedestrian is on or at the crossing.
