Teenager gaoled after Salisbury Square assault

Wednesday 12 July 2023

A teenager from Enfield has been sent to a young offenders instiutute after an assault that left a victim uncouncious in the middle of a road.

The attack took place in Salisbury Square

Tyrese Spinks was sentenced to 15 months detention after admitting Actual Bodily Harm in Salisbury Square in the early hours of Sunday 9th October 2022.

Spinks approached the teenager before repeatedly punching him until he was unconcious, and continued to attack the victim as he lay on the ground. Police later arrested Spinks nearby.

Following sentencing, Detective Constable Matthew Reed, said: "This was a nasty, unprovoked attack and, to this day, Spinks has given no explanation for his actions on the night. Thankfully the victim wasn’t more seriously hurt, but it could easily have been a very different story. I hope this sentence gives Spinks some time to reflect on his behaviour."
