The new surgery will replace outdated facilities in St Andrew Street, providing more space, additional consulting rooms, higher patient capacity and a wider range of health services.

The new state-of-the-art premises at Lea Wharf will be able to accommodate a wide range of services all under one roof. Partners at Wallace House Surgery have agreed these new premises with Chase New Homes and expect to move into tghe new premises this autumn. The practice’s surgery at Calton Court will remain open.

Rachael Hunt, Practice Manager at Wallace House Surgery, said: "We are delighted to sign this agreement for the new surgery at Lea Wharf. This new treatment centre represents a significant investment into improving healthcare services for the local community in Hertford. We appreciate the support of Chase New Homes, as without their help this new surgery would not have been possible. By relocating to a larger practice, offering more services and being able to help more patients, we will be able to improve standards and cut waiting times. We are keen to reassure patients as we make this transition, and we look forward to welcoming them to Lea Wharf in the near future."

Not only does the new surgery allow for an increase in patient numbers, it will also offer more training opportunities for doctors and nurses. There will be six to eight training roles for health professionals in the centre at any one time, further strengthening the team and creating jobs.

Paul Bennett from Chase New Homes said: "Confirming the agreement for Wallace House Surgery to relocate to Lea Wharf is fantastic news and we are thrilled to be able to play an integral part in boosting the health of the residents of Hertford. This new surgery will not only provide excellent healthcare services on the doorstep, but forms part of the regeneration of this part of Hertford Town Centre which includes a range of shops, restaurants and other facilities that will make it a great place to live."
