Councils criticise bus station closure

Tuesday 25 April 2023

East Herts District Council and Hertfordshire County Council have issued a joint statement in response to the planned partial closure of Hertford Bus Station by Chase New Homes.

The planned closure will see two bus stops and the public footpath closed from Thursday 27th April.

A statement published by both councils describes the closure as "unneccesary".

Chase New Homes will partially close Hertford Bus Station from Thursday 27 April as part of their ongoing redevelopment of Bircherley Green.

Access to two bus stands and the public footpath will be affected.

Temporary arrangements to ensure that services will keep running smoothly will be in place and council staff will be on site on Thursday to provide assistance.

For updates on the bus services and the alternative arrangements in place, please continue to check www.intalink.co.uk in the coming days.

We do not believe this closure is necessary but will continue working with Chase to minimise disruption to passengers and residents.
