Stevenage Bus Replacement Postponed

Plans to replace trains to Stevenage with a bus service have been delayed until May 2019 after Govia announced that there would be no Winter schedule this year.

Following the chaotic implementation of a new timetable in May this year, rail bosses have announced that to allow the current schedules to settle in there will no no changes to train times in December. This means that the scheduled replacement of trains from Hertford North to Stevenage will now not take place until May 2019. 

The replacement of trains is necessary to allow the construction of a fifth platform at Stevenage to increase capacity on the main line. It is still unclear how long this might take, although some predictions have suggested it could be completed as early as next Summer.
