Police appeal after thefts from vehicles
A spate of thefts from motor vehicles along the Ware Road has prompted police to appeal for information and offer advice on vehicle security.

The thefts took place between Wednesday 30th November and Sunday 4th December in Ware Road and connecting streets.
On Wednesday 30th November a van was targeted on Beechwood Close overnight. Three days later on Saturday 3rd December at around 11pm a car was targeted on Arnold Close. A bag containing money and bank cards were stolen. A few hours later at 3:37am on Sunday 4th December a Gucci bag worth hundreds of pounds was stolen from a vehicle in Mutiny Close. Later at 8.40am a car was targeted on Ware Road. A pair of high value sunglasses were stolen.
The suspect was seen wearing a black coat with a hood, trousers and black trainers.
PC Jonny Rowe, who is investigating, said: "I'd like to reassure the community that we are doing all we can to investigate these incidents. I am keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything or may have any doorbell or dashcam footage around the dates mentioned that could assist us with our investigation. Please contact me directly at Jonny.Rowe@herts.police.uk.
"I would also like to remind motorists to never leave wallets, cards or cash in your car and make sure you have removed all your belongings when you leave your vehicle unattended. Even items such as sunglasses, coats and loose change can be enough to entice a criminal to break in.
"It seems obvious, but ensuring your car is fully locked is an essential part of your vehicle's safety. It can be easy to get distracted when exiting your vehicle, but it is so important to make sure the last thing you do before leaving your car unattended is lock it.
"If you witness any suspicious activity around vehicles, or believe a crime may be in progress, always dial 999 straight away."
You can report information online, speak to an operator in the Herts Police Force Communications Room via their online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.
