The fashion show took place at The Hummingford in Fore Street and raised over £1750 for Helping Herts, the official charity of the Stort Valley Rotary Club. The charity support 12 children’s charities across Hertfordshire to help them maximise their fundraising potential and improve the lives of the children and families they support.

A selection of preloved clothes were modelled by regular customers of Mint, ranging from casual wear to evening wear and showcased a selection of brands from the high street to high end designer labels. The clothes are all available to purchase in store and a selection are available via the Mint website.

A raffle took place after the fashion show with lots of luxurious prizes on offer which were donated by local businesses.

Throughout the show Sioux Wilde, the owner of Mint, emphasised that by buying pre-loved clothes, we can contribute to slowing the fast fashion cycle and reduce clothing waste. The fashion industry produces more CO2 emissions than aviation and shipping combined.

Sioux Wilde said: "We were blown away with the love from our loyal customers and if we have changed one persons mindset, I've done my job. We loved raising the money for Helping Herts and are already planning next year"

Sarah Clancy, Digital Marketing Lead at Helping Herts, spoke at the event about Helping Herts and how the money raised was going directly to children’s charities. She said: "We are so grateful to Sioux for putting on such an incredible cat-walk show and the generosity from the fabulous guests who bought raffle tickets, helping us raise money for Helping Herts. The money raised on the night will really make a difference to all the charities we support."

Cllr Sue Barber, Mayor of Hertford, attended the event. She had recently presented the boutique with an award at the Hertford High Street awards for best fashion and said: "Mint provided a fantastic selection of clothing – indeed as they say “Guilt Free Designer Glamour”. It was a truly magnificent night that saw an array of outfits all worn by local women of all ages. The emphasis on upcycling and sustainability is high in most people’s minds and Mint of Hertford shows how it can be done and what can be achieved. All this was in a good cause to raise funds for children’s charities across Hertfordshire."
