Town centre set for Christmas Gala

This year's Christmas Gala takes place in the town centre on Friday, with a three-day Christmas Market running the whole weekend from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th November 2022.

The town centre streets will be filled with Christmas market stalls and food stands. along with fairground rides, whilst singers and entertainers will perform live on-stage in Salisbury Square, including Stagecoach Hertford, Simon Balle Big Band and a Ukrainian choir singing traditional Christmas songs.

Stalls at the Christmas Gala include:

• Wooden planters, garden items
• Deli and cheese selection from French and Day
• Hertford Sauce Co
• Mulled Wine and minced pies from the Rotary Club
• Cosmetics from Lucy Bee
• Food, drinks and fairground rides
• Nativity set from All Saints Baptist Church

Over the weekend, Hertford Castle will host a free 3-day Christmas market boasting an array of Christmas market stalls on the Castle Lawn selling a selection of products and produce. There will also be fairground rides, live entertainment andfood and drink stands providing seasonal treats.

Chairman of Hertford Town Council’s Development & Leisure Committee, Councillor Jane Sartin, said: "Hertford Town Council’s Christmas Gala and Market will provide the perfect opportunity to shop locally in the run up to Christmas, and get the festive season underway. There will be entertainment to enjoy and, as well as the additional market stalls, all the shops
and places to eat and drink that our town has to offer."

The Christmas Market is open on Friday 25th November 3.30pm – 8pm, Saturday 26th November 11am – 6pm and on Sunday 28th November 11am – 5pm.
