The Wash weekend closure

Drivers are being advised to avoid The Wash the coming weekend due to disruption caused by the installation of a crane at Hertford Theatre.

The road outside the theatre will be closed from 7pm on Saturday 19th November and reopen at 5am on Monday 21st November.

Motorists are advised to use St.Andrew Street, North Road, Cross Street and Gascoyne way as an alternative route.

The crane installation comes as the building phase of the theatre redevelopment gets underway.

The redeveloped theatre will include increased seating capacity, a new circle level in the main auditorium, three new bespoke cinemas, new dance studios, first floor bar, riverside café, plaza style foyer and development of an Education & Wellbeing department for schools and community groups, as well as improved back stage facilities. 

The theatre is expected to reopen in late 2023.
