Scarecrows of Hertford

Wednesday 12 October 2022

The churchyard in front of St.Andrew's Church has become renowned for it's displays featuring seasonal tableaus and effigies.

This year's Harvest Festival display of scarecrows features a selection of Hertford's best known residents and characters of the past and present.

Front and centre we find Ruper Grint's character Ron Weasley, with his companions Harry Potter and Hermione Granger.

Elsewhere we find a Templar Knight, in a nod to the imprisonment of a number of Knights Templar at Hertford Castle in 1308.

The last convicted Witch, who was tried in Hertford in 1712 also makes an appearance.
