MP welcomes tax rate reversal
Constituency MP Julie Marson has welcomed The Chancellor's U-turn on the abolition of the 45p tax-rate, in her first comments since Kwasi Karteng's controversial mini-budget.

Posting on social media. the MP also encouraged the Chancellor to publish a forecast from the Office of Budget Responsibility on the impact of measures announced in the recent mini-budget.

Last month Ms Marson welcomes the new Prime Minister to her role, writing on her website: "I would like to congratulate Liz Truss on becoming our leader and the new Prime Minister.
"She has an inbox that is perhaps more challenging than any leader of our country has faced for several generations, but I believe she has the experience and leadership qualities to deliver.
"Over the coming days and weeks, the new PM will set out her policies to tackle the challenges we face on the economy, the cost-of-living crisis, energy security, the war in Ukraine and the NHS backlog.
"She has my full support in delivering on them for the people, the farmers and businesses of Hertford and Stortford who have told me clearly these last few months they are worried about the future and they want action on energy prices and supporting livelihoods in the months to come."
During the leadership campaign Ms Marson declared her support for Rishi Sunak. She has since been removed from her roles as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Employment and as an assistant Government whip.
