Sele Farm New Homes Exhibition

Developers are holding a public exhibition as they prepare a planning application for new homes on green field land to the west of Thieves Lane.

The proposals are for 251 private and affordable homes, consisting mainly of houses, at the corner of Thieves Lane and Welwyn Road.

The area is allocated for housing in the draft District Plan, which is expected to be adopted later in the year.  Land to the north of Welwyn Road is also expected to accomodate a further 300 new homes, despite long-standing planning approval for a sports centre.

Other areas in Hertford will also see new homes when the District Plan is adopted, with 450 proposed for the former gas works (the site being designated HERT2), 150 north of Bengeo (HERT4) and 50 in Mangrove Road (HERT5).
