Death threat sent to MP

Monday 24 January 2022

Police are investigated after constituency MP Julie Marson was sent a hand-written death threat over the Christmas period.

Speaking to Andy Collins of Three Counties Radio, Ms Marson described the letter as "vile" and a "disturbing and unpleasant experience".

The letter described Ms Marson as "dead meat" and said "you'll be looking out behind you for the rest of y0our life", before continuing "you will pay Marson".

The letter is thought to have been sent by someone opposed to the Covid-19 vaccination programme.

Ms Marson said: "I will not allow this kind of thing to change my belief in democracy ... to be part of public service and the job I love

"We can't normalise death threats".
