Baroosh Makes Way For The Practitioner

Monday 25 June 2018

Popular bar Baroosh in Fore Street has closed and will re-open as The Practitioner in August.

The new venture will take inspiration from the buildings early history when in 1911 number 76 Fore Street was home to a number of local surgeons and physicians including Dr. Ernest Richard Evans and Dr. E Shelly who carried out their business in one of the grand ten rooms of the building.

"We've ventured through the doctor's notes and brought the practice into the 21st century, with design to inspire and a relaxed atmosphere bursting with character. Expect a carefully selected range of both contemporary and traditional cocktails with the freshest ingredients, bespoke seasonal dishes and brunch, small batch production brews and attentive service." Said Gavin Chinasamy, General Manager.

The bar opened in 2000 in what was previously Barclays Bank and was the first of the Baroosh branded outlets run by McMullens. The other three are in Cambridge, Marlow and Bishop's Stortford.

This item was updated on 28/6/18 following receipt of a press release from McMullen's.
