Annual art exhibition returns
Hertford Art Society are staging their 68th Open Exhibition after last year's event was cancelled due to the coronavirus.
The exhibition runs from 17th to 24th July at The Cowbridge Halls and features over 30 works of art, including paintings, sculptures and ceramics.
Five awards are presented to entrants and this year's winners are:
Colin J Clarke for 'High Rise to Let 2 Wells-Next-To-The-Sea' receives the John Goss Prize for the painting considered to be the best in show.
Rita Dare's 'Stay a While' wins The Lady Laming Award for Abstract Art.
Anne McCormack RO SWA wins The Bill Dale Award for 'Fleeting Moments', deemed by the judges as showing the most merit among works by Members who regularly support the whole of the society's activities.
The Mayor's Award, sponsored by The Society East Herts is presented for the best 3D work, with this year's awatrd going to Heather Jukes for 'String Woman'.
Donna Chamberlain's 'Dance in the Sun' receives The Edward Mason Brushes Award for the best watercolour.
The show runs until next Saturday 24th July and is open Sunday 18th July from 11am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday 19th-23rd July from 10am to 8pm and Saturday 24th July from 11am to 8pm.
