Covid weekly cases top 100
The numer of people testing positive for Covid-19 in Hertford has hit 100 a week, the highest level since January.

In the week to Sunday 11th July, a total of 104 people in Hertford testing positive for the virus. The last time the fugure was over 100 was week ending 24th January, when 105 people tested positive.
The number of people receiving hospital care locally is also up, with 8 people in the Lister and QEII hospitals in Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City, and 13 in the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.
The number of deaths however remains low, with only three people dying in East Hertfordhsire in the last three months.
The estimated R number for the healthcare region of East of England is currently 1.2 to 1.5 with a daily infection growth rate range of +4% to +8% as of 16th July 2021.
Hertfordshire’s Director of Public Health, Jim McManus, has urged residents to be vigilant, saying: "The most important thing to recognise is that everyone's circumstances are different and what feels comfortable to one person might not feel that way to another.
"What I want to emphasise is being kind and considerate to each other.
"We know that a number of residents are anxious about the lifting of restrictions coming into society and this is a particular issue for those who are, and have been shielding for much of the past 18 months."
