Car showroom set for redevelopment
Plans to develop the former Gates site in Gascoyne Way have been approved by East Herts Dictrict Council.

The site will be redeveloped to provide ten new homes and commercial units fronting the dual carrigeway.
The existing buildings will be retained and converted it into five commercial, business and service units, using the glass fronted showroom for the larger unit and the remaining office and workshop floorspace for the smaller units and three 2-bed homes.

The rear of the site will see a terrace of seven new Victorian style 3/4-bed homes with integral parking.
There were 26 comments submitted during the public consultation on the plans, with only one objection. Residents of nearby West Street also voiced concerns over the potentiual for overspill parking in the street.
The developer has offered £10,000 towards the potential implementaion of a Residents Parking Zone in West Street.
A final decision will be published once planning conditions have been agreed with the developer.
