Tories lose county and town council seats
The Green Party has won Hertford All Saints, taking the county council seat from the Conservative Party.

Green candidate Ben Crystall, who is also a district councillor, polled 1819 votes, giving him a majority of 257.
Jan Goodeve, standing for the Conservative Party, took second place, polling 1562 votes.
The incumbent, Andrew Stevenson, took 6% of the vote. Cllr.Stevenson resigned from the Conservative Party after Cllr.Goodeve was selected to represent the party.
Conservative councillor Bob Deering retained his seat in Hertford St.Andrews, polling 46% of the vote, although Labour's Josh Dean put in a strong performance, gaining 42% of ballots and slashing the Conservative majority from from 795 to 169.
Tories lose town council by-election
The Green's also scored a win in the Bengeo town council by-election, with candidate Vicky Smith taking the seat from the Tories. The by-election was called following the death of Conservative councillor Linda Radford last year.
Elsewhere in Hertfordshire
Against the national trend, the Tories have lost 5 seats in the county council elections. In Bishop's Stortford East, Liberal Democrat Calvin Horner took the seat from Cllr.John Wyllie.
Hertfordshire County Council leader David Williams also lost his seat in Harpenden North East to Liberal Democrat Paul De Kort.
The last election in 2017 returned 51 Conservative councillors, 18 Liberal Democrats and 9 Labour.
This year's election has returned 46 Conservatives, 23 Liberal Democrats, 7 Labour, 1 Green and 1 independent.
