Rush Green Petition Launched

An online petition has been launched to encourage HCC Highways to address problems with traffic queueing dangerously on the Rush Green roundabout.

The issue was first highlighted five years ago but despite the roundabout being designated a Clearway, the problem persists.

Dangerous queueing occurs when traffic trying to enter Macdonald's backs up around the roundabout, blocking access from Stansted Road and obstructing the flow of traffic around the junction.

Police occasionally block the entrance to prevent queueing but this takes significant manpower away from other police operations and has not been a successful deterrent overall.

Police have also served formal warning notices on MacDonalds to encourage the company to resolve the issue.
