Hartham play area works begin
Contractors have started work on the redevelopment of Hatham play area following a successful campaign to improve the popular facility.

Work was planned to start earlier in the year but had to be postponed due to the Cv-19 pandemic.
Hertford Playground Alliance (HPA) have been working with East Herts District Council and community charity Groundwork Hertfordshire to redesign and overhaul the popular play area.
In a statement posted on social media, the campaign group thanked the public for their patience.
East Herts Council and HPA would like to thank everyone once again for your continued patience throughout the campaign as we’ve faced unforeseen obstacles caused by this pandemic. Delays sourcing the equipment from suppliers, project staff being furloughed, carrying out risk assessments and redoing risk assessments as per new Government guidelines and ensuring the team can work safely on site in a Covid-compliant manner etc. It’s been a long journey but it looks like things are finally coming together so Hertford will have an amazing new playground to enjoy next year!

Work is expected to take around 4 months, with the play area reopening by early Spring 2021.
