Edinburgh Woollen Mill closes
The Carlisle-based retailer Edinburgh Woollen Mill have confirmed that their Hertford outlet in Maidenhead Street has closed permanently.

The store closed its doors in March when the Covid-19 lockdown came in to force and has not reopened since.
The Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group also owns Peacocks, Jaeger, Jane Norman and Austin Reed. There are 400 EWM shops across the country, 150 of which have reopened as restrictions have eased.
The Maidenhead Street store opened in 2001, targeting men and women over the age of 40.
The loss of another national chain comes after Monsoon closed in February, and more recently Cafe Rouge and ASK Italian left the town. The retail vacancy rate in the town centre now stands at around 15%.
