Mudlarks relocation approved

Mudlarks cafe have been given planning permission to relocate their popular cafe to Fore Street.

The charity is being forced from its current base in Railway Street by redevelopment of the building.

The site in Fore Street was previously occupied by Marshalls Furniture, which closed last year due to retirement of the owners.

Planning permission was reqired for change of use from A1 (Shops and retail) to A3 ( Restaurants and Cafes). Mudlarks also wanted to build a side extention and make changes to the courtyard, along with internal changes to the building

Writing on social media, the cafe said: "As many of you will know, we have today been granted planning permission to move into the old Marshalls furniture shop on Fore Street. We are so happy! Thank you to you all for your amazing and ongoing support. You are truly wonderful. As soon as we can, we will start creating a beautiful new cafe and hold a celebratory party!"

It is hoped that Mudlarks will open in Fore Street within two months of work being allowed to start.
