Man hurt in suspected stabbing

A man was taken to hospital following a suspected stabbing in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police were called at around 3.45am after it was reported that an altercation had occurred in an alleyway off Fore Street and a 19-year-old man had sustained a wound to the side of the head, believed to have been caused by a bladed object.

He was taken to hospital where his injuries were deemed to be non-life threatening or changing.

A 21-year-old man from Hertford has been arrested in connection with the investigation and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
