HDOS Win Theatre Competition
Hertford Dramatic & Operatic Society have won first prize at this year's Hertford Theatre Week.
The Mercury Challenge Cup was presented to Claudia McKelvey, director of Ladies In Lavender, at the awards ceremony last night (28th April).

Runners-up were the Barn Theatre Club from Welwyn Garden City for their production of Let The Right One In, which also won the stage presentation award.
The Audience Appreciation Award went to The Players Theatre (Wales) for Bullshot Crummond. The Adjudicator's Award went to Jonathan James for his portrayal of Bullshot Crummond.
The trophies were presented by the Mayor of Hertford, Cllr.Sue Dunkley. The adjudicator was Mike Kaiser, who is a drama consultant and a member of the Guild of Drama Adjudicators.
This is the 57th year that the annual week long festival has been staged. The event attracts both local theatre companies and those from further afield.
