Council awards community grants
Hertford Town Council have handed out four Community Grants to Hertford-based organisations and good causes.

The awards were made at the first meeting of the Finance, Policy and Administration Committee, following the May local elections.
Community grants were awarded to East Herts Community Safety Partnership, who were given £1000 towards the cost of the summer activities programme for young people.
Hertford Music Festival were awarded £1200 towards the cost of promotion for the event which takes place annually in August.
Hertford St Andrew Community Trust were awarded £856 towards an afternoon trip for senior citizens to Hatfield House.
Hertford St Andrew C of E Primary School were awarded a New Homes Bonus Grant of £27,852 towards developing the early years play area into a stimulating play environment.
The meeting on Monday 24th June also saw Cllr Bob Deering re-elected as chairman of the committee and Cllr Jan Goodeve appointed as Vice Chair.
Cllr Bob Deering, said: "I am pleased to have been re-elected as Chairman of Hertford Town Council’s Finance Committee together with Cllr Jan Goodeve as Vice-Chair. It was great to make a good start to the new Civic round by awarding various grants to a number of deserving local groups and good causes.
The Town’s finances are on a sound footing. We will work hard to keep it this way, continue supporting local causes and deliver value for money.
