Bengeo mosaic unveiled

A project to create a mosaic representing Bengeo reached its culmination last Sunday with an unveiling in Bengeo Street.

The project was led by a group of residents under the Love Bengeo Community Group who collaborated on the design and eventual creation of the mural in a series of workshops run under the direction and oversight of the local mosaic artist – Costello Mosaics.

The vision was to create a vibrant piece of public art that reflects the character and spirit of our neighbourhood.

Landmarks eatured in the mosaic include St.Leonard's Church, Bengeo water tower, The Little Theatre in Balfour Street and two pubs - The Greyhound and White Lion.

Funding for the project was provided by Hertford Town Council, McMullens, Holy Trinity church and Hertfordshire County Council’s Locality Budget scheme.
