Town Council by-election takes place on Thursday

A town council by-election takes place in Sele Ward on Thursday after two councillors resigned.
Cllrs Carolyn Redfern (Lab) and Mark Levermore (Lab) announced their resignations in May, both for personal reasons.
Local electors will be faced with ten candidates from five parties at the ballot box on Thursday.

- Sarah Aldridge, Green Party
- Robert Cinnamon, Conservative
- Jan Goodeve, Conservative
- Geoffrey Madge, Liberal Democrats
- Anne McGeachin, Labour
- Andrew Porrer, Liberal Democrats
- Martin Smith. Labour
- Drew Waller Downes, Green Party
- David West, Reform
Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm, with counting starting immediately after.
