Interim Chief Executive appointed by council
East Herts Council has appointed an interim Chief Executive following the surprise departure of CEO Richard Cassidy.

Councillors met last Thursday (19th September) and appointed Deputy Chief Executive Helen Standen to the role with immediate effect.
Helen Standen has been working in local government for over 25 years and has been at East Herts council since 2016, most recently holding the role of Deputy Chief Executive. Her appointment is due before Full Council in October for ratification.
Ben Crystall, leader of the Council said: "Helen brings a huge amount of experience, having been instrumental in many important projects and worked for a number of years here at East Herts Council. We look forward to continuing to work with her in her new capacity and I know the council and our residents will benefit greatly from this appointment."
Helen Standen, interim chief executive officer said: "I am confident that I will provide the steady hand that is needed in this interim period, I'm looking forward to stepping into this role and building on the great work happening across the council already."
