Neighbour From Hell Sentenced
A Cecil Road man has been given a five year restraining order and sentenced to 26 weeks in custody for causing harassment and antisocial behaviour.
David Lewis, 33, was sentenced at Stevenage Magistrates Court on Monday July 23rd following an investigation into reports of antisocial behaviour and harassment of his neighbour.
Deborah Mead, Antisocial Behaviour and Licensing Officer at Hertford Police Station, said: "We are pleased with this result. David Lewis has made life a misery for many people on Cecil Road in Hertford to the point where one resident had to move out. We take complaints of antisocial behaviour extremely seriously and have worked closely with our partners at Riversmead Housing Association to reach this outcome."
Chris Wright, Riversmead’s Director of Housing Services, said: "We will not tolerate any form of harassment or nuisance which makes the neighbourhood for our residents unbearable to live in. The sentencing of Mr Lewis is a positive result for the residents of Cecil Road and brings closure to the harassment they have endured. The outcome of the court hearing is a direct result of the continuing and strong collaborative partnership we have with the police, the council and the residents themselves."
