More Flats Proposed For Mill Road

Monday 2 April 2012

A further 100 flats could be built in Mill Road according to outline plans from British Rail.

The former sidings to the north of Hertford East station are currently being offered for sale with the potential for over 110 outlined in sale documents.

The land is owned by British Rail Residuary and has recently been cleared prior to being advertised. The last remaining business on the site is due to leave during the Summer.

Mill Road and Mead Lane have recently seen 250 flats built in the last 5 years, with outstanding planning approval for a further 120 in Marshgate Drive. The new plans would total 500 flats in the area.

East Herts District Council is due to unveil a new planning policy later in the year.
